Water for Hope
At Ninestone Marketing we believe that clean water is a basic human right. Using our time and financial resources, we support Water Mission’s efforts in Peru. Water Mission is a top-rated charity by Charity Navigator and a global leader in providing clean water and sanitation solutions to those most in need.
For Zoila Vásquez Curichiwa, a mother living in Peru’s Amazon region, the possibility of having access to safe water gives her hope for the future.
She said, “Drinking clean and treated water guarantees that neither us nor our children will suffer from illness.”
Despite having access to water from the Amazon River, one of the largest rivers in the world, communities like Zoila’s have extremely limited safe drinking water. Over the years, the Amazon River has been contaminated by human waste, agricultural pollution, and toxic chemicals from oil and gas extraction. Even the region’s shallow wells, dug to provide alternative water sources, contain dangerous concentrations of arsenic, manganese, and aluminum.
“We are farmers and it’s a problem when we get sick from drinking contaminated water from the creek [that stems from the Amazon river]. We can’t work regularly and peacefully,” Zoila said.
By The Numbers
The numbers can be overwhelming.
World Health Organization

2.2 billion people without
safe water

4.4 billion people without
safe sanitation

But change is happening. And at Ninestone Marketing we’re taking action.

Severe Poverty
New data shows that 80% of rural residents in the Amazon region do not have access to treated, uncontaminated water. In these areas, 57% of the severely impoverished population does not have safely managed sanitation services. 2,700 rural communities in this region are often neglected and under-resourced.

The Need is Dire
With all of our support, Water Mission will enhance and expand its program in the region, providing life-saving water, sanitation, and hygiene solutions. In these remote areas, a well-rounded, long-term approach is necessary to support the health, education, and livelihood of entire communities.

Extreme Weather & Water Stress
While the region receives approximately 250 days of rain annually, the rainfall is not evenly distributed throughout the area or during the year. Communities suffer from both droughts and floods, as well as weather events like El Niño and La Niña, leading to crippling water stress.

At Water Mission, it is our vision that all people have safe water and an opportunity to experience God’s love.
